Luisa was born and raised in
Italy. In 1998 she obtained
a Masters Degree in foreign
languages and specialized in
Native American Cultures. She
lived for a while in New Mexico
and spent several months among
the Pueblo people.
Back home in Italy she opened
her own travel agency where
she has worked for the past
6 years. In the meantime,
she has kept up her studies
of Native American Cultures
with a particular interest
in the most recent interactions
between the indigenous peoples
and their governments.
Luisa has been supporting “Soconas
Incomindios,” an Italian
non-profit organization that
helps indigenous peoples
since 1997. She currently
splits her time between Italy
and New York City and since
November 2006 has been very
busy organizing a series
of fund raising events in
both countries and helping
to raise awareness on the
indigenous peoples’ problems
and needs. Her deep commitment
and her expertise are the
reasons why she was asked,
and luckily accepted, to
be on Angel Conservation’s
board of directors.
As you can see from Luisa’s
profile photo she has visited
the Pemón recently
(August 2006) bringing with
her three laptops as a donation
to the community.
